Addon Domains and Parked Domains

Addon Domains

The Addon domains feature allows you run serveral websites from a single account.

The main difference between Addon domains and Parked Domains is that these don’t have to be pointed at the root of the domain.

You can have a domain called mywebsite.co.nz and then point domains at folders with in the account.

e.g. mysecondwebsite.co.nz could be pointed at mywebsite.co.nz/site2/
Any one who enters mysecondwebsite.co.nz into a browser will never know it is being hosted within another account, it will appear as it has its own web hosting account.

Parked Domains

The Parked domains feature allows you run a single website from multiple domains.
This is very useful if you buy the same domain with different extensions.

eg mywebsite.co.nz & mywebsite.co.uk & mywebsite.com.au
These could all be parked onto your existing domain giving you complete brand protection, but you only have to maintain a single website.

The domains are mapped onto to the account in a seamless fashion so if a user enters any of the following URLs they all end up in the same place and as this isn’t web forwarding the URL entered doesn’t change, therefore less potential of confusion for browsers.

If your domain was awesomewebsite.co.nz, and you then parked awesomewebsite.com on top,
http://awesomewebsite.co.nz/shop/ & http://awesomewebsite.com/shop/ would open exactly the same page
